Little Falls @ 2,82', High Tide THURS PAD...
Author Last Post
Just when I was thinking that the Thursday Paddles might be running out of steam - a beautiful day and a yuge turnout!   Something like 19 people showed up for the fun.   Warm day - warm water (58 degrees), 2.8 feet, high tide.   We has one newbie to LF on the run - Cory Hyman - and Dave van Patten in his large rec boat.

The Z Channel down was much fuller than one would have suspected; we figured because the Feeder Canal outflow into Lock 5 has been turned off so the Canal downstream stays dry.

We were able to traverse the bottom of Brookmont Dam, then head down the right side of the river.  Ron Kn, Ned, & I did the Beaver Drop without hanging up, although the level was minimum.   At the Main Event, a few of us scouted from the MD side, watching the heroes descend and pointing out the features to Cory.  Most of us did Maryland, though about four took advantage of the high tide and did Virginia.

No swims.    Dramatis personae were:  Miki, JS, Barb, Ron K, Kathleen, Dany & Lisa, Paul Mohler, Gary, Cory, Dave vP, Jim Long, Mikey B, and Alf

and Gordon Bare, Ursy, Carter, Ned, and Howard- a fast team doing the short Loop and carrying their boats up the Canal to Lock 5.
