Angler's to Lock 10 - July 6, 2017
Author Last Post
This trip was originally to be the Thursday paddlers inaugural Little Falls run for 2017 but a rising Potomac caused by an overnight rain led us to switch to Angler's/Lock 10. That decision was vindicated when the LF gauge reached 3.35 at 1:00. Five intrepid paddlers (Bob D, Mark B, Miki K, Tim T & Wayne McD) braved the elements and the elements rewarded us - despite sustained showers before and after, no rain fell while on the river. The paddling was routine with no carnage to report. We did see an unusually large number of birds including a bald eagle, several great blue herons, and many ducks and cormorants (including one in distress that may have entangled in a fishing line).
