CCA Meeting

We are pleased to announce that we have a live speaker this evening -- Steve Taylor -- whose unique subject will be “Why do Drownings continue from Swimming in the  Potomac Gorge?" Steve says “In part, this question is addressed in light of "Safety Culture" programs for complex systems that have notably reduced accidents, such as with the airlines.” He says that “this will be an audience participating presentation.   School will be in. You may get fingered to answer a question. Homework will be given.”

A note about Steve: Steve has been part of our local paddling community since the late 70s. He is a scientist who has lent his expertise to, among other things, securing water on the Upper Yough, preventing a hydropower project that would have dewatered part of the Gauley, and securing water releases on New York’s Black River. It is worth showing up this evening just to thank Steve for all he has done for our rivers. Please join us.
