Canal Pride Day

This spring, Canal Pride Days celebrates its tenth year! Join the fun at the largest volunteer event held in the C&O Canal National Historical Park. This year volunteers will be tackling preservation and beautification projects such as campground and trail improvements, historic preservation efforts, invasive plant and trash removal, planting gardens, and much more. Check below to see how many events you can participate in and join in the fun and satisfaction of giving back to the C&O Canal National Historical Park! 


  • Saturday, April 22 - Great Falls - Preserve historic buildings, improve Park grounds, remove invasive plant species, and more.
  • Saturday, April 29 - Williamsport - Help care for exhibits, pull invasive plants, remove trash from Cushwa Basin, and more to ready the Park for the Conococheague Aqueduct Ribbon Cutting on May 5.
  • Saturday, May 6 - Brunswick - Beautify the day-use area by repainting picnic tables, fire grills, and onsite facilities as well as removing trash and invasive plant species
