Contrary to my forecast of a hot, humid and scrapy VL loop, 6 of us - Jan W., Kathleen S., Toni B., Gordy L., Hendrik vO., and Ginny Q. - enjoyed a nice run down the GW canal (LF gauge 2.71 ft.) and back up the C&O canal on a beautiful Sunday morning. The wave hole appeared to be at the perfect level for Hendrik to surf as he was able to stay on the wave while resting his paddle on his gunwale. Diagonal rapid was sporting quite a few rocks, but still had more than one line. We took the left channel after Diagonal and Kathleen and Gordy showed us their skills at the attaining rapid. The bottom of the right channel looked like it had one runnable line in the middle chute. The last rapid offered many opportunities to eddy hop your way down.
