12 intrepid paddlers (Alex P (PFD), Alf C, Austin, Barb B, Bob, Carrie, Eric O, George W, Laura E, Liz S, Toni B & Wayne McD) braved the 90-degree heat to paddle the George Washington Canal in a variety of craft including K-1s, OC-2, rec kayaks & an inflatable kayak. The group included four members of the Loudon County Kayak and Social club; glad you could join us! We had initially intended to set shuttle based on a rumor that the C&O canal had been drained but it turned out to be full so, after a bit of dithering, we ran the traditional loop trip. We observed the usual collection of great blue herons, cormorants and turtles. No carnage to report.
