Bloomington Releases - 1,000 cfs - Sat & Sun

Update (14 Sept) on Artificial Variable Flow scheduled for September 18 and 19: Subsequent to the first AVF on August 28, and in consideration of high flows that occurred on the North Branch Potomac from rainfall from the remnants of Tropical Depression Ida, it is deemed that a full AVF is not necessary. Instead,

two days of whitewater releases of 1,000 cfs will be conducted from 10am to 4pm each day.

The ramping schedule will be posted on the North Branch Potomac forecast page (https://www.nab-wc.usace.army.mil/nab/northBranch.html) closer to the event. Hydrologic conditions will continue to be monitored and evaluated, and a subsequent message will be sent out should any additional changes be needed.

Miki Komlosh will be coordinating a trip for Saturday's release. Please contact her at komloshm@yahoo.com if interested.
