We went for a walk down the towpath from Violettes last evening. The sky was spectacular and there was ample water in the river. Three points:
There is a huge tangle of woody debris blocking the gap in the wing dam below the put in which should cause no problems for putting in but will prevent a run down through the wing dam to get to the Breaks. Running the main dam would be a good plan B.
All the woody debris in the canal is gone including the log that the beavers clipped off just above mp21. There is, however, a large oak across the canal just below mp21 which might trap enough debris to keep the canal paddleable.
The canal did seem to have adequate water up to about 50 yards below the delta beach, the normal takeout.
