Sunday, 5/18: Stonycreek: The Cheat Canyon was still running at High Recommended levels, so we decided to run Stonycreek Canyon instead. Joining Tom Hackman were Hugh Powell (K1), Edward Socias (K1), Laura Kurup (OC1), Chad Dear (SUP) and me. While still higher than normal, the Stony was more manageable, providing many opportunities to play all the way down to Carpenter's. We were a more confident group of paddlers. There were also no incidents. Just grins and good times. Big thanks to Tom for coordinating the trip and for his flexibility in changing plans at the last minute.
