Nine paddlers (Alan Gale, Amy and Barb Brown, Ernie Katz, George Wyeth, Ken Jackson, Kim Buttleman, Tim Tilson and Wayne McDaniel) enjoyed a beautiful day on the Potomac from Angler’s Inn to Lock 10. Daughter Amy was in town from Washington State to celebrate Barb's 80th(!) birthday. The level was 3.30’ (4610 CFS). Numerous bid sightings including a couple of ospreys and a bald eagle. Paddling was pretty routine although we did have one swim at the unlikely location of Offutt rapid, but it was quickly self-rescued. We encountered a large Calleva class of kayakers and SUPers at Yellow Falls. Both participants and instructors appeared to be very young to we graybeards but they seemed to know what they were doing and kept the carnage to a minimum. Afterwards seven of us repaired to Fish Taco for an enjoyable al fresco lunch.
