George Washington Canal @ 2.72' - October 5, 2...
Wayne McDaniel

Andrew T, Annette & Hugh H, Barb B, Bob H, Chris S, David C, Hendrik vO, John S, Mikey B, Natalie H, Tim T, Toni B & Wayne McD enjoyed a beautiful fall day (sunny skies, high near 80) on the Potomac paddling the George Washington Canal using Riley’s Lock as the put-in and Pennyfield as the takeout. Only downside was the level, which was decidedly scrapey at 2.72’ (1560 cfs). Highlights included numerous bird sightings of many species and extended surfing sessions with no carnage. Afterwards, several of us repaired to Riley’s Lock for the annual CCA picnic.
