Cotton and Tony Allred, the local authority and co-coordinator will coordinate this flatwater trip on a trib (Bodkins Bay) of Chesapeake out of Downs Park. We will meet at 10:30 at the location below.

Make sure you go to the Locust Cove kayak launch on the North side of Downs Park and not the Chesapeake Bay launch on the South side of Downs Park. Once on the water, when you get to the main Bodkins, you need to paddle past a narrow spit of land on the Bay side, before you start to look for the Hancock Resolution landing which is directly across on the back Bodkins side. The ranger at the Hancock Resolution park is Chris Hugh.

Road directions to get to Downs Park from I-95: Take MD 100 east towards Gibson Island. MD 100 is a highway until there are two stoplights just before it ends at MD 177. Take MD 177 east to Downs Park. Go straight onto Pinehurst Rd (the main road) when MD 177 forks off to the right. The Downs Park entry station will be on the right, ask directions for the Locust Cove Kayak Launch.
