Due to garbage weather, the below paddling trip has been cancelled.

With levels falling and no rain in the forecast, we'll be paddling the GW Canal again this Sunday morning. On the bright side, the level is projected to be a bit higher (at 3.3) than it has been lately.

Note that the forecasted temp for Sunday is 62 degrees at 10:30 with the chance of some rain in the afternoon. Water temp on the Potomac (as of Thursday afternoon) is about 68 degrees. With the cooler air and water temps, the trip coordinator recommends neoprene or other warm synthetic layers. Consider checking these temps again Sunday morning before heading out so you are dressed appropriately.

PFDs are required for all. Helmets are required for kayakers using spray skirts and highly recommended for all others. Airbags are strongly encouraged for boats without other means of flotation. If you need safety equipment, please advise the trip coordinator.
