National Safe Boating Week: Brush Up on Boating Safety

As part of National Safe Boating Week this year (May 18-24), the Safe Boating Council kicked off an awareness campaign, reminding all boaters to "make the most of their boating adventure by being responsible" and encouraged boaters to take a boating safety course. 

The American Canoe Association, in partnership with the U.S. Coast Guard, added three new safety videos to its paddlesports online courses. They are free and available in English and Spanish!

• Nautical Rules of the Road

• Self and Assisted Rescue Techniques

On behalf of the CCA Safety Committee, I encourage you to watch these five-minute videos as part of refreshing your paddling safety skills and para los que no hablan español, maybe learn a few Spanish words while you're at it.
