Lower Yough Canoe Clinic, Kayak Clinic Available in August

CCA in collaboration with Calleva and Jordan Taylor's Paddlesport Institute has commissioned Jordan to lead two clinics on the Lower Yough for paddlers who are comfortable running the Lower Yough or similar Class III rivers. 

Advanced Whitewater Skills for Open Canoers is an all-day session for CCA members Monday, Aug. 18. The course will include moving water maneuvers, paddling techniques and mechanics, ranges of motion, body positioning, paddle placement, propulsion, and turning. More technical and challenging lines and maneuvers will be identified as options for participants. Tandems are welcome if the paddlers have previously paddled tandem together.

Advanced Whitewater Skills for Kayakers is offered to CCA members who are interested in practicing more technical and challenging lines on the Lower Yough. A reliable roll and the ability to aggressively rescue is required. This is an all-day session Friday, Aug. 22.

Registration

Registration is required for these clinics, and slots are limited. The cost is $100. CCA members can register by following the Aug. 18 (canoe) and Aug. 22 (kayak) links on the club calendar.
