Trip Reports

Thurs. May 27 Little Falls at 3.3 feet
Author Last Post

An enthusiastic group of nine boaters (Larry L., Bruce C., Anne K., Mike K., Paul M., Chris O., Sheila C., Mark B., and trip leader Jenny T.) spent a fine afternoon running Little Falls at 3.3 feet. The put-in to the feeder canal from Lock 5 was choked with wood and we had to walk a bit farther than normal to put-on. All nine members ran the Beaver Slide successfully. One person was new to this part of the Potomac and he and several others stopped to scout Little Falls. Eight of the nine ran the Maryland side and with the combination of higher water and the tide, there was a rather large, chaotic fun wave train at the bottom. One brave person ran the Virginia side of Little Falls. Great day, great weather, great group!
