Little Falls - 3.34' - 6/16/22
Author Last Post

Five paddlers (Larry - OC1 and Mark, Sheila, Peter and Cotton - K1s) ran Little Falls on 6/16/22, starting on the water around 11:00 and getting off the water around 1:00. The level was 3.34’ and the weather was balmy, as our start time enabled us to avoid the early and late thunderstorms. We ran down Z Channel, with two paddlers going to the right of the big rock at the end and the others going left. Peter demonstrated a strong brace on the right side. After paddling up to the dam, we headed down stream and stopped at the Beaver Slide. Four of us went left, taking advantage of the higher water and Sheila came down on the right side. We scouted Little Falls and all ran the Maryland side. Larry supplied a bit of drama at the top of LF by dropping into the pour-over hole but recovered nicely and remained upright. The tide was high so the wave train at the bottom of the MD side was comparatively tame. The canal had enough water to paddle back to Lock 5.
