Thursday Paddle - Cacapon @ est 300 cfs
Alf Cooley assures us that the Cacapon is still high enough from last week’s rains for a reasonable trip so we will be running the Capon Bridge to WV 127 section on this scenic river. Weather forecast is a high around 80 with a 40% chance of rain. We will meet at the WV 127 takeout at 11:00. For those coming from Virginia who wish to carpool or convoy, meet at the Wyndham Garden Manassas (10800 Vandor Lane) at 9:15. This is accessed from I-66 westbound via Exit 47B/VA 234/Sudley Rd. Tim Tilson will be coordinating this carpool. If you need to reach him Thursday morning his cell phone is 703-864-0802.

We have a special treat planned for lunch. A while back, a Washington Post food critic reported that some of the best hamburgers to be found anywhere are in, improbably enough, Capon Bridge – see https://www.washingtonpost.com/lifestyle/food/2019/11/04/e24fb3d8-fcdb-11e9-8906-ab6b60de9124_story.html Subsequently, the restaurant won an award for "Best Burgers in West Virginia".

So, after consolidating boats at the takeout, we will head to the Farmer’s Daughter (it’s open 11–3 for meals), have lunch, and then continue to the put-in. There is a friendly property owner there that lets us use his land for whatever we feel like giving. We’ve settled on $5/boat as a fair fee; please bring that along.

Wayne McDaniel will be the Cacapon trip coordinator. As always, please advise him (macinmd1@gmail.com, 443 542 8779) if and where you plan on joining.
