NEW YEARS PADDLE - LOWER ANTIETAM - 280 cfs
Assuming that the weather holds, I am willing to lead a trip on the lower section of Antietam Creek on New Years. The gauge is currently a hair below 3 ft (2.4 ft being zero on this section) and will likely be at a similar level (i.e., about +6") Sunday. 280 cfs [min 150].
I would propose to meet at the Route 34 put-in at 11 AM. The water will be cold, so dress appropriately. The section is ~ 6 miles, mostly Class 1, with a couple of rapids as Class II. Bring a lunch.
Paddlers interested in this trip should contact me (see below)--note: the phone listed is a land-line; I do not have a cell phone, and would thus need to hear from folks by, say, 10 PM on Saturday (or, for last minute changes, no later than ~ 9:30 AM on Sunday.)
